Detectives from Sussex travelled to Southend today looking for a man in connection with a serious assault on a colleague.
Police have taken the unusual step of naming and issuing a photograph of Clive Anness, 32, thought to be living in the town, a week after Sgt Dave Tye, 37, of Crowborough, was dragg-ed 400 yards by a car and badly hurt.
Suspect - Clive Anness
He approached a dark blue Peugeot 405 estate car and put his arm inside the driver's open window to remove the keys and the driver sped off. Sgt Pye was trapped, dragged along the road and left injured
Anyone who can help is asked to contact police immediately. The Sussex Police number is 0845 6070999 and Southend's is 01702 431212.
