A revamp to village facilities is being considered by parish councillors
Little Clacton Recreational Trust hopes to bring its sports pavilion at Plough Corner facilities up to football's Border League standard.
The £65,000 project will see the extension of the existing pavilion building and putting in new showers, changing rooms and a kitchen.
Jeff Couzens, chairman of the parish council, said: "It will mean the minimal amount of new-build and uses the existing walls."
With plans to update the pavilion anyway, Mr Couzens said it seemed prudent to include other additions to include the requirements of Border League.
Weeley Athletic Football Club, which plays in the premier division of the Border League, is showing interest in using the site.
However, the facilities would also be open to other organisations.
