A new town centre manager has been appointed for Harwich and Dovercourt.
John Senior, 54, has taken over from Tony Whitmarsh, who resigned after more than two years in the job.
Mr Senior has had senior management experience in the public and private sector in innovation, problem-solving and achieving targets within tight deadlines.
He has lived in Harwich for several years.
Mr Senior will be based in the town centre manager's office, above the Co-op store in Kingsway, Dovercourt.
Colin Crawford, chairman of the town centre management committee, said: "I am delighted that John Senior has accepted our invitation to become town centre manager for Harwich and Dovercourt."
