Police have been left baffled by the theft of a sceptic tank from a house in Tiptree.
The tank, worth £3,500, was stolen from a house in Grove Farm Road, Tiptree.
Det Sgt Roger Napier of Colchester CID, said the thieves had cut through fences and hedges to get to the tank which was being installed at the house.
He added it was believed the thieves had taken the tank over the weekend.
Det Sgt Napier said the thieves must have used a vehicle to remove the tank and appealed for anyone who had noticed anything.
