Thurrock Harriers' Erin Engdahl collected the women's title and the over-35 crown when the Essex 20-mile Championships were staged at Rochford.
Her time of 2 hrs. 15 mins. 50 secs saw her second behind overall winner and former jockey Shona Crombie-Hicks.
She won in 2.09.31 as she continued her build-up for the Flora 1000-mile challenge but was not eligible for the Essex crown.
Benfleet Running Club took the team prize from Thurrock Harriers.
The men's race went to Bedford's Hugh Lob (1.49.17) with Thurrock's T Cummings top local finisher in sixth spot (2.00.51). Thurock were again second team home (29 points).
