Three girls are about to achieve a lifetime ambition by performing at the Royal Opera House.
The girls, from Colchester, Rowhedge and Witham, passed an audition to appear as woodland characters in The Cunning Little Vixen, when it is performed at the world renowned venue in Covent Garden, London.
The young starlets are Caitlin Wallace, of Blunts Hall, Witham, Georgia Box, of Ipswich Road, Colchester, both seven, and Armonie Melville, nine, of Rowhedge.
They all attend the performing arts school, Stagecoach Colchester, and the principal there, Caroline Clarke, put them forward for an audition which they all passed.
Jenny Wallace, mother of Caitlin, said: "It was an amazing experience for them just to go to the audition, but for them to all pass has been really quite unbelievable.
"To be performing at the Royal Opera House is not a bad start to a career, is it?"
She said they were taking part in dress rehearsals for the opera, which opens on February 21.
