Gareth Williams believes he struck a vital blow for Colchester United and Wales with his first goal for the U's.
The Crystal Palace loanee's equaliser on the stroke of half-time earned his adopted club a 1-1 draw and a crucial point at Second Division bottom club Cheltenham Town.
And as the recently capped Welsh Under-20 international striker celebrated his vital strike he said that it must be the goal that finally clinches the U's manager's job for his countryman Geraint Williams.
"We all want George (caretaker boss Geraint Williams) to become the new manager," he said.
"And I really can't see how the Colchester board of directors can't give him the job now."
Saturday's Whaddon Road draw means that temporary boss Williams now boasts an undefeated record in the four complete games he has been in charge - three of them away from home.
