Stisted has been left without a pre-school after no-one came forward to take over from the departing owner.
Geraldine Drane closed Stepping Stones pre-school two months ago when she decided to focus on her adult college course.
But she hoped someone might come forward to run a pre-school using the existing facilities and equipment at the village hall.
Now the village children who went to Stepping Stones have to travel to pre-schools in nearby villages instead.
Mrs Drane still runs fun sessions for youngsters in the village hall a couple of times a week and plans to set up a parent and toddler group in Stisted after Easter.
She said: "I am still hoping someone might come forward to run a pre-school or an after-school club. It would be a shame to see the facilities go to waste."
Anyone who is interested in the parent and toddler group or the pre-school should contact Mrs Drane on 01376 343640
