In a bottom of the table clash which was a real four-pointer, Rochford travelled to Wymondham full of confidence following the previous week's result against Chingford.

But any thoughts Rochford had of getting an early score were dismissed as Wymondham played some great attacking rugby in the first half and deservedly took a 12-0 half-time lead.

Rochford were simply outplayed in every department and a couple of injuries to key players Matty Barber and Captain Jon Brown did not help.

But in the second half, led from the front by Matt Norris, Rochford took the game to the Norfolk side and began to take control.

After a prolonged spell of pressure an opening appeared for Barry Eldred and he scored under the posts, which Paul Head converted to reduce the lead to 12-7.

Rochford now really believed in themselves and what seemed very unlikely at half time, a Rochford win, now looked possible if not likely.

With the forwards very much on top, Rochford soaked up everything the home side could throw at them and with three minutes left Lee Sullivan powered himself over the line leaving a simple kick for Paul Head to put Rochford ahead 12-14.
