Protesters are to hold a 24-hour vigil outside a petrol garage tomorrow as part of a long-running campaign.

Members of Essex Greenpeace are organising the vigil at the Esso station at Kent Elms Corner on the A127.

They will camp on the footpath from 8pm tomorrow until 8pm on Saturday.

It is part of their two-year Stop Esso campaign highlighting the company's environmental policies.

Greenpeace area networker Shaun Qureshi said the protest would be peaceful.

An Esso spokesman said: "We also strongly refute claims made by Greenpeace relating to global warming."
