Lucy Staab really made her mark when competing in only her third ever rhythmic gymnastic competition.
For she won a gold medal in the novice under-8 free event as a member of the South Essex Gym Club squad who competed in a novice and intermediate competition in Northampton.

Mikaela James won the silver medal in the novice under-10 hoop event.
Danielle Paul came third in the under-12 intermediate competition -- this was a combination of the scores from the ball and rope routines.
In her previous competition two weeks earlier in Canterbury, Danielle won a trophy for best performance of the day -- an award that is voted for by the audience.
