Purse snatchers in Castle Point look set for more than an earful, thanks to handbag alarms being handed out to elderly residents.
On Friday, the first batch is being given to senior citizens at Cisca House in Long Road, Canvey. More are due to be distributed later.
They are being donated by the Castle Point Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership, which won Home Office funding.
