Conditions in the blood testing room at Maldon's hospital are yet to improve with complaints still flooding in, it has been claimed.

Health bosses have agreed there is room for improvement and are trying to increase the facility to help better the "cramped" environment.

Donna Hunn, of Lawling Avenue, Heybridge, went for a blood test at St Peter's Hospital last Friday and said she was appalled with the conditions.

She claimed four people were in the room at the same time and she could see everyone else having their tests.

Mrs Hunn also claims nurses were bumping into each other.

She said: "I don't particularly like having blood tests and this doesn't help. There's been no improvements since the last complaint."

The last complaint was reported in the Evening Gazette last month ago but health bosses said nothing could be done to help improve the "inadequate" testing room.

One staff member, who does not want to be named, has said it is wonderful that the new therapy suite is up-and-running at the Spital Road hospital but maybe the PCT could divert a small amount of its money for the benefit of phlebotomy services.

She said: "All we ask for are adequate, clean, safe facilities to deal with the 100 more patients we see every day."
