A group of OAPs are being taken on a mystery trip thanks to a Heybridge pub.

Sheila Townley, who owns the Anchor pub in The Square, has arranged to take 15 to 20 pensioners on an outing free of charge.

Ever since Mrs Townley took over the drinking hole last December, she has been raising cash for a fund which she set up called the Anchor Community Chest a pot of money solely for elderly people living in the Heybridge area.

After a lot of hard work and help from generous customers, she has managed to raise more than £500.
