A score of plus four handed Richard Kemp the bogey-par competition on Hanover's Georgian course at Hullbridge.

This was followed by a Mayday Stableford competition which went to Ray Bowen, who carded 43, three shots ahead of Andy Smart.

The vets medal was won by Robert Turnbull, whose round of 70, nosed him in front of Ernest Porter (71).

Mick Seaby (70) took the Division One medal ahead of Hugh Montgomery and the Division Two title was bagged by Philip Irwin, who just edged out John Gibson after both players finished on 68.

Jean Sales was triumphant in the Ladies medal and a total of 66 handed Lawrence Todd the mid-week prize

Dave Topley finished three shots behind.

The May Stableford ended up with Dave Tyrrell (Div One) Roger Huntley (Div Two), with Shelagh Norton taking the ladies title.

And the May Bank Holiday Stableford was clinched by Oliver Lane, while Jim Prentice took the mid-week competition ahead of Michael French, with both players scoring 41.

The two nines competition went to Colin Fletcher and Ted Rawlings, while the four-ball letter ball was won by Mick Gill and Alan Dartnell.
