Driving in Maldon High Street is set to be limited to 20mph Essex County Council has announced.

Brian Mead, county councillor for Maldon, made the announcement at a recent meeting with Maldon Town Council to discuss complaints of congestion and speeding in the town centre.

Members also discussed the installation of 30mph signs at the lower end of the High Street as a measure until the new restriction is put into place.

Speeding and parking problems in Wantz Road were also discussed.

Cllr Mead supported the narrowing of Wantz Road in places through the use of chicanes and said that every option is currently being looked at.
