Chalvedon yet again put in a fine performance to almost totally dominate the annual Basildon Senior School Sports at Gloucester Park.

However, a number of other schools have increased their standing and in this respect Laindon's James Hormnsby, sixth overall, were delighted to finish as high as fourth in the field events competition.
Chalvedon won the overall title on a massive 1,013 points from Billericay's Mayflower on 504 -- just one ahead of near neighbours Billericay. Woodlands were fourth on 438.5.
Pitsea-based Chalvedon also took the overall field event crown on 501 points from Woodlands (239), Billericay (216.5) and James Hornsby (185).
