A cyclist was taken to hospital after he was knocked from his bike in Dovercourt on Sunday night.
He had been cycling along Parkeston Road, towards Main Road, when he was hit from behind by a car at 10.15pm.
The cyclist fell to the ground and hit his head, while the driver failed to stop.
PC Michelle Yates, of Harwich police, said the man hit his head, injured his arm and shoulder and may have suffered cracked ribs.
