The order has been placed for Great Notley's first skateboarding ramp.
After two years of asking for more play equipment, youngsters in the village will finally be getting their own equipment.
Angela Balcombe, Great Notley Parish Council clerk, ordered the stand alone mini-ramp after confirming with children exactly what they wanted.
She said: "The idea to have something in Great Notley is to give the kids somewhere to go for an hour after school and practise for the bigger parks."
