The father of a rugby player who died after a diving accident has warned others to stop jumping into the sea.
Andrew Dunsire, 20, of Station Road, Wrabness, died on Monday after the accident at Dovercourt on July 20.
His father, Michael Tidmarsh, thanked all those who had placed cards and flowers on the seafront spot where the accident occurred but said children were still jumping into the sea despite the tragedy.
He said: "I went down there and saw some children and said to them 'do you know how dangerous that is?'. They said 'yeah, I've been doing it for years' and he just did it again.
"It was unreal."
There are now plans to commemorate Andrew's love of rugby at his funeral, which will be held at Weeley Crematorium on Monday.
