Children have been celebrating the first anniversary of their school by parachute jumping and disco dancing.
Pupils at Briscoe Primary School in Felmores Way, Basildon, joined staff in a fun day to mark the end of a hard but successful 12 months.
The infant and primary schools were once separate but were merged in September to improve education standards.
Since then, pupils and staff have worked tirelessly and achieved a number of successes along the way, says head teacher Melissa Eades. She said: "Our SATs results have improved and we have lots of after-school activities for children throughout the school."
She added: "The school was awarded the Sports Activemark for sport development recently, as well."
The school marked the year's successes with a fun day with attractions including a bouncy castle, 14 different activities to choose from and a picnic afterwards.
