It has been a busy month for Basildon's lady golfers and Daphne Saitch in particular has turned in some memorable performances -- including become one of three members to score a hole-in-one this month.
Basildon's silver team has won three of five matches, although they suffered cup disappointment when they went down 7-0 to Stapleford Abbots.
They reversed that whitewash in their most recent series outing as the newtowners found their best form once more.
Saitch has continued her excellent form with victory in the third round of the Ida Bunting Championship -- a competition open to past and present club captains.
She has also qualified with current captain Jane Ashdown for the final qualifying round of the National Public Golf Course Competition, which is held on September 7 at St Andrews' Ladybank course.
Saitch won July's lady captain's day with 38 points, beating off the challenge of Janet Gammage (37) and Judy Long (35), and to cap off a great July she aced the 14th hole in the Wednesday Trophy.
Margaret O'Leary won men's captain's day with an excellent 43-point score, with Long (39) the runner-up this time after a better back-nine than Jennie Frizzell.
