The future of a Leigh old people's complex will be decided after a tenants' meeting to look at options for the future.
Spencer House, in Randolph Close, is not suitable to be adapted to modern day requirements for elderly people and Southend Council has been looking at its future for some time.
Gwen Horrigan, executive councillor for housing, said after a residents' meeting in April a number expressed a desire to move away from the complex and alternative accommodation had been found for them in more modern sheltered housing.
She said: "It is the intention over the next few weeks to hold another general meeting with all residents to discuss their views on the future use of Spencer House."
Mrs Horrigan said in consultation with the tenants that all future uses would be explored.
