A bus driver who stopped to use the toilet at a service station was shocked to return and find two youths in his bus.
The driver, who works for First bus company, had parked in Merco service station, High Street, Canvey, just after 8pm on Sunday.
Acting Insp Kevin Diable-White said the driver, who has not been named, came back after using the toilets and disturbed the youths who had managed to get into the bus.
The youths fled as the driver approached and he found a box containing ticket rolls, maps, and documents - worth in total £30 - had been stolen.
