A host of classic beers, ciders and perries are on offer at the Rochford Beer Festival being held at Freight House in Bradley Way, Rochford.

Beer lovers from the Campaign for Real Ale want to see traditional British beers on tap at local pubs across the country.

South east Essex Camra spokesman Mike Woods said: "Traditional ales are dying out, especially among youngsters, in this country."

The festival features 160 different types of beer from across Britain and Europe, each with its own distinct features.

Whether it be a light hop beer that takes your fancy, or a heavy dark drink, there is something for everyone.

The festival continues until Saturday. Food is available along with real ales, foreign beers, ciders and perries.

Until Friday, the festival will be open from 11.30am to 3pm and then from 5.30pm to 11pm.

On Saturday it will be open from 11.30am to 11pm.
