A national award has been won by the South Essex Rape and Incest Crisis Centre (SERICC).
The Thurrock based team was presented with the Emma Humphreys Memorial Prize by Jo Brand, one of the patrons of the prize, at the Greater London Authority Offices in City Hall, London.
A spokesman for SERICC said: "We are honoured to be chosen for this award."
The Emma Humphreys Memorial Prize is awarded to an individual woman and a group who through their work have raised awareness of violence against women.
