Competitors were tempted out for the seventh race of the Adnams Cruiser Winter Series at Brandy Hole Yacht Club on the Crouch by glorious weather and a gentle Force 3 north-westerly wind.
Due to the tide, an afternoon shorter course was set to beat the early sunset , but the ride was still exhilarating.
The sun glistened on the water and a wall of colourful spinnakers was a glorious sight in the watery winter sunshine.
The moorings are now emptying, giving a cleaner sweep for tacking on the way back, and many boats tussled in head to head mini-races, before the finish and return to the clubhouse for the warm and friendly aprs-sail.
