Paul Lees collected his second silver medal in two months at the West Essex Bowman Portsmouth competition.
Lees, who shoots for Rayleigh Town, won the afternoon session with a personal best score of 543 to tie with morning leader Philip Krausbauer.
But Krausbauer took top spot by the narrowest of margins when a countback revealed he had hit 22 golds to Lees' 21.
Last month the Corringham-based bowman missed out on a gold medal by four points in Basildon's Racketts Archery Club annual Portsmouth competition.
