A garden shed was damaged when a 3ft firework "spear" plunged to earth and pierced its wooden roof.
The firework stick made its mark on Lisa Goodman's shed in Marina Avenue, Rayleigh.
Ms Goodman said: "It looked like a holder from a rocket firework, as it had a clip near the top and the end was slightly charred."
