A community has welcomed the opening of a new park in Parkeston.
Schoolchildren, residents and councillors gathered in the rain yesterday for the official opening of Jubilee Park.
Mick Lowe, chairman of Ramsey and Parkeston Parish Council, and George Elmer, Parkeston councillor, planted a sweet gum tree at the ceremony.
Mr Lowe said: "We are very pleased about the park it is looking nice and hopefully it is something the people of Parkeston will use and enjoy."
Jubilee Park was created on a former scrapyard between the end of Garland Road and the Parkeston bypass.
