A student was punched, kicked and racially abused after he got off a train and was making his way home from college.

The 19-year-old student, of Clacton, had just left the town's railway station when the attack happened.

Insp Richard Day, of Clacton police, said the attacker starting shouting racial taunts at the victim before kicking and punching him.

He said: "The attacker chased him down the road and continued to punch him and kick him about."

The assault happened at about 4.15pm on Tuesday

The attacker is described as aged between 16-17 years old and about 5ft 7ins tall. He had short brown straight hair which looked gelled.

He was wearing a blue sweatshirt or sports top, tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
