Alan Mahon is highly unlikely to feature in Ipswich Town's weekend duel with Sheffield United at Portman Road.
The Blackburn loanee has recovered from a hamstring injury but has been laid low with flu, forcing him to miss Tuesday night's reserve game with Portsmouth.
Mahon needed to get 90 minutes under his belt to be in contention for Saturday's Nationwide League Division One clash.
But, having missed the 0-0 draw against Pompey, Town boss Joe Royle said: "The very best he could hope for is to be on the bench, but that's unlikely."
John McGreal and Martijn Reuser both completed 90 minutes against Portsmouth.
