An angry mum today blasted cinema bosses who forced her ten-year-old son to walk home in the pouring rain after not allowing him to make a quick phone call.

Daniel Hole, ten, had just watched Elf with his friend Scott Harvey, also ten, at Movie Starr cinema in Eastern Esplanade, Canvey.
The pair went outside to use the public phone box but it was out of order so they went back inside and asked staff if they could call their parents from the staff members but were refused.
A spokesman for the cinema said: "It is not company policy."
