Castle Point MP Bob Spink practised what he preached when he received a flu jab at the House of Commons.

The Tory MP has been campaigning for residents in the borough who are considered by medics to be in the at-risk category for catching flu, to come forward and have their injections.

He said: "Residents are missing out on this potentially life-saving jab because they don't realise the dangers of flu or that they are in the at-risk group."

The at-risk or target group, who should ask their doctor for a vaccination against flu includes all people over 65 and those under 65 who suffer from heart, respiratory or renal problems, diabetes or those who have weakened immune systems.
