Young singers at St Philomena's School in Frinton have been competing in the BBC's Songs of Praise, Junior School Choir of the Year competition.
After 130 schools were put forward to compete, St Philomena's has made it through to the last remaining six in the UK - and the only one selected in England.
Sally Vincent, music teacher, said top music correspondents from the BBC had visited the school to audition the youngsters.
If they make it through to the finals, they will be judged by the likes of Pete Waterman of ITV's Pop Idol and Carrie Grant, of BBC's Fame Academy.
The results will be announced on Friday, December 12.
