With third from bottom Berkhamsted having produced a shock win at East Thurrock on Saturday, Great Wakering Rovers' need for success at home to Leyton tonight is more acute in Ryman Division One North.

The village side are currently second from bottom with only one win in 17 starts.

They currently have two games in hand on Berko, but trail them by three points and defeat for Alan Hull's men could start to see an appreciable gap open up between them and the other strugglers.

Certainly Rovers will not find it easy this evening against a Leyton outfit who have become one of the success stories of the Pyramid System over the past few seasons.

Two years ago they were Essex Senior League members but, after gaining promotion, went up from Ryman Division Two at the first attempt.

East Thurrock United, aiming to quickly bounce back from Saturday's disastrous home defeat by lowly Berkhamstead, face a tough challenge tonight.

For they visit Ryman Division One North leaders Cheshunt, who have suffered only two defeats in their 16 matches so far.
