Police are hunting a skinny woman who stole a car from outside the Circus Tavern in Purfleet.
They believe there had been a fight and the car's owner dropped the keys where they were picked up by a young woman who got in the car with another woman and drove off - nearly knocking down the owner.
The thief is about 5ft 5ins tall with "brown hair dyed blonde" just below shoulder length.
The woman passenger is thought to be about 18 years old with long brown hair. She wore large ear rings, a blue vest top and black trousers.
The car - a distinctive new racing green Mini Cooper with a Union Flag on the roof - was driven off along the old A13 towards London.
