An elderly woman needed medical treatment after bogus callers stole a four figure sum of money from her Margaretting home.
The 74-year-old had had previous heart trouble and needed medical treatment after two men conned their way into her home.
The pair called at 11am on Friday, telling her they were from the water board and needed to turn off the stopcock inside.
While the woman was distracted, one of the men stole the money from another room.
Both men are described as being between 30 and 40, with dark hair, of a medium to heavy build and one was wearing a suit.
On the same day in the early evening, another elderly woman in Broomfield was duped into letting two men into her home, after they again said they were from the water board and needed to check pipes.
The woman let them in, but luckily a male friend called in and distracted the men and they fled empty handed.
Both of the men at the latest incident are described as white, aged about 20, 5ft 8ins tall and slim.
