Colchester United are poised to boost their squad with the exciting signing of striker Jamie Cade.
Cade, who celebrates his 20th birthday in January, has just completed a loan spell with the U's struggling Second Division rivals Chesterfield.
But U's boss Phil Parkinson has made it clear to him that he can't expect to walk straight into the first team.
"Jamie is still a very young player," he said. "More one for the future the way I see it.
"He is very versatile and capable of playing in several positions, which will be a great asset to a club like Colchester.
"Jamie is a lad we've had our eyes on for some time now.
"We originally checked him out within weeks of me arriving at Colchester in February."
An established England Under-18 international, Cade initially joined Middlesbrough as a defender, but was successfully converted to an attacking player.
