A tough crackdown on rowdy youngsters is being launched by police in response to residents' complaints.
Operation Fenwick swung into action to combat drug taking and other anti-social behaviour in Hockley, Hullbridge and Hawkwell.
Ten officers from Essex and the British Transport Police were joined by the dog unit for the start of the operation, which focused on Hockley train station.
Two teenage boys and a girl were arrested for drugs offences and causing criminal damage and a quantity of drugs was seized. They were later released on bail.
Insp Andy Parkman, of Rochford police, said: "Over a period of time people in Hockley, Hullbridge and Hawkwell have said that there isn't a visible police presence. This is an approach to increase that and to deter potential offenders."
