Special honour - Mildred Faux with store manager Lauren Burdett and mayor Chris Freeman Picture: STEVE O'CONNELL
The new store which opened its doors for the first time today, will give Mildred Faux, of Homestead Gardens, Hadleigh, her independence back.
She was unable to shop at Hadleigh's other supermarket, Safeway, because there are too many main roads to cross.
German food company, Lidl, gave Mrs Faux a guided tour of its new store in London Road, alongside Castle Point mayor Chris Freeman.
