A secret police mission is starting next week to tackle young hooligans on Canvey, it emerged today.
PC Jessica Fisher outlined the scheme at Canvey West Area Forum but she refused to disclose any details of the campaign set to last for at least three months.
She urged neighbours to point their finger at the culprits.
The officer warned: "We have an operation we are going to start running and we should start seeing some improvement.
"Keep your fingers crossed it's not your kids - we will be visiting everybody."
She urged neighbours to name and shame the kids causing vandalism, adding: "It's happening across the island, but we are looking for people to be involved in neighbourhood watches."
