The nursery, which will be called The Cherries, is based at Cherry Tree Primary School in Holt Drive, Colchester.
It will be open mornings only and will take 20 children a day from the age of two. The nursery is being set up by Catherine House, who also runs Springlands Nursery in Shrub End Road, Colchester.
A spokesman said: "The open day went well and those interested had a chance to look round and put their names down for a place when the nursery opens."
