A new hall and classrooms at White Notley Primary School received a green light from councillors amid fears over noise.
At a meeting of Essex County Council development and regulation committee on Friday councillors discussed the plans for the Vicarage Avenue school which would see a new hall and two classrooms replace three locatable classrooms currently being used.
At present, pupils at the school have to walk 15 minutes to White Notley Village Hall for PE lessons.
Currently conformation of lottery funding is being awaited by the school, but to get this funding the school must open up the new hall for community use.
