A Billericay councillor claims he was treated like a "piece of meat" in Basildon Hospital after breaking his hip on his way out of a doctor's surgery.
Tony Archer, of Hollyford, Billericay, stumbled as his left his local surgery where he had just been given his vaccinations before his Christmas break in Gambia, which has now been cancelled.
The 63-year-old Conservative councillor for Billericay East said: "As I came out I had to negotiate some steps.
"It was a dank, murky, dismal day and I seem to recall I had my hand on the rail and I just went and landed directly on my hip."
Mr Archer was taken to Basildon Hospital where he said he was "extremely disappointed with the level of care".
