The parents of a teenager who died prematurely have presented a third state-of-the-art machine to help others at risk.
Andy Gard, of Glebe Way, Frinton, died of sudden death syndrome just two days before his 18th birthday in 1997. His parents, Peter and Caroline Gard, and sister Cathy, have since been raising money for Cry (Cardiac Risk in the Young) which aims to detect hidden heart defects in children.
Almost £90,000 has been raised for Cry in the Tendring area in Andy's memory.
On Friday, they presented their third ECG machine to the area, at Walton's GP surgery.
Two other ECG machines have already been given to Colchester General Hospital and Frinton's Station Approach surgery.
