Big-hearted friends and relatives rallied round to raise money for a six-year-old Clacton boy who suffers from brain damage.
A fun morning was held to help Alex Wakeling, who was involved in a collision with a car in May 2000.
Parents Steve and Amanda Wakeling need £5,000 to send Alex for specialist treatment in Poland.
When organiser Davina Eade, who runs slimming classes in the town, read about the appeal in the Evening Gazette she decided to help Amanda, who attends classes there.
Clacton's Brotherhood Hall, in St Osyth Road, was transformed into a magical Christmas wonderland on Saturday to raise cash.
