Southend Cricket Club will represent the South Essex District at the county indoor finals at Chelmsford on Saturday January 17.
They scored 106-2 in 7.5 overs to beat Tilbury (105-6 11 overs) in the final play-off between the Southend and Thurrock champions and they will now play the winners of the Central District competition in the first semi-final.
Back in the Premier Division of the Southend League, a fine all-round performance from Catchpole saw Leigh to a five run win over Hadleigh and Thundersley and took them to the top of the table.
Leigh made 108-3 with Lowes taking 2-10 for Hadleigh. In the Hadleigh reply Catchpole took 2-30 and M Wallis 2-28. S Johnson made 48 in a 103-6 total which brought them nine points. Leigh collected 18.
