Colchester's grammar schools are flying high in the key stage 3 tables released today.
At Colchester Royal Grammar School, every pupil gained level five scores or above in science, maths and English.
And Colchester High School had 100 per cent of pupils gaining the required level in maths and science and 99 per cent in English.
Colchester's success reflected the national picture where grammar schools dominated the tables.
Another school celebrating success today was the Stanway School which scored highly in the valued added measure scores.
The score is designed to show how pupils have progressed and the Stanway Schol came second in Colchester behind the Royal Grammar School.
Colchester Royal Grammar School achieved a value added measure score of 102.7 with Stanway getting 101.9. It places it in the top five in the county.
The lowest performing school in the Colchester area was Thomas, Lord Audley which got a value added score of 98.
