One of Colchester's top-performing schools has had its English key stage three results annulled by the Government.
Philip Morant School and Technology College has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding its English results.
The children themselves have been given their English results but parents have been warned those results are now subject to a review.
Both the school and the Department for Education and Skills are remaining tight-lipped over exactly what has happened.
A DFES spokeswoman said: "Their results were annulled."
She added she was unable to say more at this stage because of confidentiality surrounding the issue.
Speaking to the Evening Gazette, headteacher Russell Moon said: "Students have received their English results. There is an issue with the English SATs results, which are currently the subject of a review, and therefore the school is unable to make any comment."
